Camping Jannesland for a holiday in Sweden

Jannesland is named after the first owner of the farm: “Janne”
From the moment the farm was no longer in use, the premises were only used as a holiday dwelling. As a result the main house deteriorated.
Some years ago the place was taken over by Dutch owners and the farm gradually changed into a camping place with also some cabins for rent.

Jannesland is a tremendous place midst lakes and extensive forests and bordering the water of the lake Viggesjön. The campsite measures 6 hectares with 20 places which are not fenced off. More than enough space for all our guests.
The campsite has a spacious sanitary building and a guest-kitchen with convenient equipment. Furthermore an apartment, authentic timber-house and a few cabins (‘stuga’ in Swedish) for rent.

Jannesland is a place for those who love nature. The shore on the lake is 400 metres long and has a nice small beach and a pier for boat and canoe. There is a wonderful public beach some 1,5 kilometres from the campsite as well. The lake is a fishermen’s paradise, full of fish like pike, perch and carp. And in the river that flows into the lake you will find trout as well. The lake and its surroundings offer you opportunities for swimming, canoeing, cycling and wandering. Rowing boats can be hired at the campsite at a fair price.

From the campsite our guests can walk into two charming nature reserves. Jannesland is well situated for those who would like to make some nice daytrips, e.g. to the High Coast (just above Sundsvall), which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Elk, deer, foxes, beavers, badgers and squirrels are found around and even on the campsite when you are lucky. Like everywhere else in the middle and northern part of Sweden there are also bears, but the odds of meeting one are scarce.

The winter season offers opportunities for ice-fishing and cross-country skiing. Alpine skiing is possible at Hassela Ski Resort (40km) and Sundsvall (50km).

Of course our guests should enjoy the mystic calm of our campfire nights in the summer season.
